Sao, V. & Delaunay, M. (1983) Médicine douce et sport dur: Un mariage heureux homéopathie française, Vol.71, pp.147-149.
A double blind placebo controlled trial – 20 participants.
10 days ahead of a contact sport competition, the verum group received homeopathic remedies Arnica (7CH (7X)) and China (4CH (4X)). An individually selected constitutional prescription of a homeopathic remedy in 9CH (9X) the participants administered the night prior to the event.
Arnica 7CH (7X): 5 granules upon waking during the 10 days preceding the competition. Arnica was selected on account of its action on traumatism of all sorts, physical as well as psychological.
China 4CH (4X): 5 granules upon sleeping during the 10 days preceding the competition. China was used because of its action following abundant loss of body-fluids (here: sweat).
Constitutional: Administered the night before the event in a 9 CH (9X).
The results clearly favoured homeopathy. Objective and subjective outcomes showed the athletes in the homeopathy group to feel less tired, less agitated prior to the contest, having better adaptation reactions, and faster physiologic recuperation. They declared that they felt they were better athletes in the contest.
